In this post, I show off a couple of projects I put together using scanography. If you don’t know what that is, it’s exactly what it sounds like—using a scanner to take a photo. I wanted to seize the opportunity to do something creative, so I decided to create mini scenes using origami figures and other cutouts. In the end, it was the process that made this more fun than the actual product itself (althought, I don’t think the product turned out too bad either).
Let me know what you think and which is your favorite!
In this first scene, I imagine two birds in love and used the flower to show that connection. I used a white background to contrast against the dark paper, and I like the silhouette feel that gave to it.
This wasn’t the first thing I had in mind when I was creating this project, but it turned out better than I thought. I wanted to use sizing to create the illusion of depth, so I made the second plane and cloud smaller than the bottom one to make it look like it’s slightly further away. Does it fool your eye? Let me know!
